Bilingual German-English

The mother tongue is acquired both at ease and correctly by every child (without serious disability).

A special sensitivity for language in the earliest periods of life and the tendency to imitate assist the achievement of top performances with minimal conscious effort.

For many of us, acquiring a second language is associated with a lot of time, effort and frustrations. Many of us gave up too early on learning a foreign language by believing ourselves to be untalented.

Spending time immersed in countries where foreign languages are spoken often seems to be the best way to acquire a new language.

The rewarding experience of learning to understand and communicate in a foreign language helps us to build up our self-confidence. The consequence of this is that the individual is self-motivated to learn the orthography and grammar.

This comprehensive insight has not been institutionalised by educators and consequently, languages are still learnt though periodic lessons in the classroom, which often means that the children lose interest and motivation, despite the optimal mind of the very young for language learning.

This method of immersion offers the possibility to acquire a second language in the same promising conditions that prevail when learning our mother tongue.

In each classroom there are both German and English speaking teachers who communicate solely in their own language. This ensures that both languages are applied equally during lessons, songs, games and conversation. The language material that is available for the children also follows this principle.

Our success has proved us right!
