Our pre-school programme consists
of a Pre-Kindergarten and a Kindergarten. This combination
has proven its self to be an ideal preparation for the transition
into the basic elementary level. Both groups are lead by one
teacher with German and a second with English mother tongue
or very good English knowledge. This method guarantees second
language acquisition, plus encourages the rapid development
of social, cognitive, and motor skills. The childrens
self-esteem is nurtured through the practice of the Montessori
philosophy of being helped to help themselves. The child is
imparted with a sense of independence from adults.
The childrens work proves that under the careful guidance
of trained teachers even the youngest child is much more capable
than generally expected.

In the Pre-Kindergarten there is a group
of approximately fifteen children of mixed age, some as young as
three months. Children who have the opportunity of spending time
in a group at such an early age develop a sophisticated sense of
social thinking and a decisive advantage in acquiring a second language.

The day is structured into two three-hour
periods, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. During
these periods (9am -12pm and 1pm - 4pm) children should neither
be dropped off nor picked up.

Quiet time is between 1pm and 2pm. This
hour after lunch is intended to be a meditative and relaxing time
for both children and adults.
